French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin promised yesterday, to compensate orphans .of Jews deported from France. "We think it's fair that France take responsibijicy vis a vis those she treated wrongly [during the Holocaust] and those who were despoiled," he said, at the annual dinner of CRIF, the Council of Representative Jewish Organizations in France. He added. "I've decided that orphans of Jews deported from France will enjoy a gesture of recognition "of the duty we have cowards them. This will be a one-time capital payment, or a monthly payment."
